My home town of Hatfield in Hertfordshire is a very mixed town. Previously the home of British Aerospace, aircraft design and manufacturing was the towns main focus, with it being famous for building the De Havilland aircrafts.
The University of Hertfordshire soon took over those closed factories and a new campus and student accommodation sprung up.
On the other side of the town centre is the beautiful Hatfield House. The old Palace was once seized by Henry VIII and became home to Queen Elizabeth I, so is steeped in history and a great place to visit if you ever get the chance.

My initial thoughts on the brief made me think how different one side of Hatfield town is from the other, from the majestic Hatfield House with its beautiful gardens and quaint stores in the Stable Yard, you can cross the railway line, through the graffiti covered subway into the town centre with its closed stores and vandalised windows, it is quite literally worlds apart.
I want to show this vast difference in my series.
