After living in Hatfield for nearly 7 years and the surrounding area since birth, I’ve really enjoyed the past two weeks of my Square Mile assignment.
I never knew that the Hatfield Heritage Aerodrome Trail even existed until I spotted it on a quick walk to the shops, and since following it around the West side of Hatfield I’ve been telling everyone about it.
The photograph below shows one of the towns proudest achievements, The Comet Jet Liner, emerging from the Hanger, now a David Lloyd Gym, ready to take off from the airfield, now parkland and housing.

It’s been difficult to narrow down my final selection, with plenty of great photos and views from around the town, including some great art deco style buildings, but I think the final cut allows the viewer a brief tour of this side of Hatfield and the heritage it had, and how it looks today.
I’ve also ended it with an almost sombre photograph, depicting the death of the runway and aircraft business in the town as a whole.
Overall I’m really excited to share the final cut with you shortly!
